Living By The Standard (The true story of the plumber who outwitted the IRS)
Coming March 2016
Everything is built on a beginning. That something is the basis where you lead yourself and others. It cannot be altered.” – David Margrave
The entirety of our economic system has been proven as flawed by a small-town South Pasadena, California plumber. How flawed? He pays not only his bills and the IRS, legally, in gold coins, he has not utilized standard notes, checks or credit cards for over 30 years.
David never set out to “beat the system.” He set out to work within the system, as defined to the letter by our lawmakers and founding fathers. To get there, he has fought federal politics, faced prison time, divorced his wife due to bureaucratic necessity, was threatened with his fair share of violence and death threats and is considered a “conspiracy theorist” by many. He has spent years researching the IRS code, the definition of coinage and coins as set out by the U.S. Government in the 1700’s, the history of money and the silenced commission on the gold standard. He is the only known, living American to live on the gold standard legally. Howard Hughes was another.
David was talked into writing this book, which may well forever alter global commerce, over safety concerns for his family. Ultimately, he agreed to leave this legacy for them and, he hopes, the greater good … as he himself fights Stage-4 terminal cancer.
His is a true story of an extraordinary, ordinary American – the story of David Margrave.
